Four Seasons Prague Overview
If you’ve been looking for a luxury hotel in Prague, the Four Seasons probably caught your eye.
But with luxury comes a hefty price tag, so you may be wondering if the Four Seasons Prague is worth the cost.
After experiencing it firsthand, we’re sharing our experience and insights to help you decide if this iconic hotel lives up to the hype and the cost.

Location & First Impressions
There are many reasons to love the Four Seasons Prague but we’ll start with the location.
It doesn’t get more centrally located than this. Whether you want to explore the alleys of Old Town or meander through the Jewish Quarter, you can do it with relative ease when staying at this hotel.
Location:
Four Seasons Prague enjoys a privileged location along the right bank of the Vltava River and only a stone’s throw from Charles Bridge and the heart of Old Town.
The hotel itself is composed of multiple buildings of various architectural styles which blend seamlessly with their surroundings.
In addition to being within walking distance of many famous sites, the Four Seasons’ location along the Vltava River means that one side of the hotel looks out towards the river with views of Prague Castle in the distance. This means that some rooms and common areas offer this view as well.
First Impressions
The hotel’s main entrance is tucked away on a small side street and, although it’s not the type of grand entrance you often find at five-star properties, this isn’t necessarily a bad thing. It’s more of an understated elegance.
Even the hotel’s sign is understated to the point where if you aren’t specifically looking for it, you might miss it.

One key feature that we loved about this hotel is the riverfront promenade that runs between the hotel and the river. It’s a fantastic place to sit and take in the amazing views.

This is a perfect spot to take pictures if you’re hoping to get a great shot with Charles Bridge or Prague Castle as your backdrop.
The opposite side of the hotel overlooks the very busy street that runs parallel with the river.
To get to Charles Bridge or Old Town, you’ll need to walk along this busy road because, unfortunately, the riverfront walkway doesn’t extend all the way to the bridge.

To get to the heart of Old Town, you’ll need to cross this busy road at some point. The best way to do this is to walk to the beginning of Charles Bridge, which is on the same side of the road as the hotel, and turn left to cross the street.

Flair Pro Insight: The Four Seasons Prague website notes different walking times from the ones noted here. For example, it lists Prague Castle as a 10-minute walk. Sadly, this isn’t accurate, trust me.
It will actually take around 30 minutes, give or take. This will depend on how quickly you walk and your fitness level. Some portions of the walk are uphill and it can be strenuous and challenging.
Modern King Room Overview
Four Seasons Prague offers 13 room types, divided into one of four categories: standard guest rooms, suites, specialty suites, and a villa.
Within these categories, there are five types of standard guest rooms, four types of suites, and three types of specialty suites, all offering different views and sizes.

Size
Rooms range in size from 355 square feet, plenty for two people, and go all the way up to a 4,000-square-foot riverside villa that can fit up to nine guests.
We chose a modern room which was located in the main building. This made it really convenient to get to the lobby, restaurant, and bar.
The room was just the right size for our stay. It was comfortable, well laid out, and more spacious than a lot of other European hotel rooms we’ve stayed at in the past.
If we’d been staying longer, we might have gone for something a bit bigger, but for this trip, it was exactly what we needed.
Bed
Our room had a fantastic king bed. It was easily one of the most comfortable we’ve slept in. But what really won us over? A real duvet.
I’m not really sure when hotels decided that two sheets constitute a proper blanket but I’m happy to see that Four Seasons didn’t follow the crowd.
We also loved that they didn’t hold back on the pillows. There were plenty and they were plush, another gold star for Four Seasons.
A quick heads-up if you’re not planning to share a bed: not all rooms here offer that flexibility. If you need two separate beds, look at the Deluxe Room or Premier River Room. They’re the only standard categories that offer twin-bed setups.
Most of the suites come with a king bed, plus either a sofa bed or the option to request a rollaway. If you need more space, the Royal Suite includes two full bedrooms and plenty of room to spread out.
Decor and Amenities
The room’s décor lived up to what you’d expect from a Four Seasons. It’s warm, refined, and tastefully elegant.
With soft neutral tones and plush furnishings, it offered a comfortable and calming retreat which we welcomed after a busy day of exploring.
In-room amenities include a mini-fridge stocked with drinks and snacks available for purchase, along with a safe for storing valuables.

Modern King Bathroom
The modern king bathroom is finished in sleek marble and it felt spacious and comfortable, providing plenty of room to get ready without feeling cramped. A separate water closet adds extra convenience.
It came fully equipped with thoughtful amenities, including a hairdryer, makeup mirror, and luxurious Diptyque bath products.
One of the highlights? The plush terry robes and soft slippers. These became favorites too, after the duvet of course!
View
If a view of Prague Castle or Charles Bridge is high on your wish list, be sure to book the appropriate room category. Not all rooms offer these iconic views.
Within the standard room types, only the Premier River Room provides a direct view of the castle or bridge. Otherwise, you’ll need to upgrade to a suite to enjoy those sights.
Our modern room overlooked a quiet side street which was exactly what we expected. Since we were out exploring most of the day, the lack of a view didn’t bother us.
In our case, paying extra for a room with a view wouldn’t have been worth it. The money was better spent on experiences around the city.
Dining at Four Seasons Prague
If you find yourself wanting a quiet night in, the hotel offers several on-site dining options worth exploring.
CottoCrudo, the hotel’s signature restaurant, serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner in a stylish, modern setting.
During the warmer months, guests can enjoy meals on the scenic outdoor terrace overlooking the Vltava River with a distant view of Prague Castle. This is where we sat for breakfast and there are certainly worse ways to start your day!
Speaking of breakfast, the buffet is especially impressive, with an extensive selection that caters to every taste. In the evening, the menu shifts to Italian cuisine.
We didn’t eat dinner in the restaurant however, we did enjoy drinks and food in the bar.

For something lighter, the CottoCrudo Bar offers a limited menu featuring smaller bites like sandwiches and salads, perfect for a more casual dining experience.
After a particularly busy day that included a food tour, we weren’t up for a full meal.
Instead, we found a quiet corner in the bar, ordered a couple of sandwiches and drinks, and it turned out to be exactly what we needed.

If you’d like something a bit more elegant, the hotel is home to MIRU, an exclusive rooftop Japanese fine dining restaurant with stunning views of Prague Castle and Charles Bridge.

While we didn’t have the chance to dine there during our stay, it’s a nice option during the warmer months if you don’t mind the price tag.
With only four tables available each evening, reservations are essential and should be made well in advance.
Service & Staff
No two Four Seasons properties are exactly alike, but what you can always count on is their consistently exceptional service and the Prague location is no exception.
When we arrived, we were greeted by a friendly porter who promptly handled our luggage and took care of parking our car.
Since we checked in after the standard 3:00 PM check-in time, our room was ready upon arrival. The check-in process was seamless, quick, and efficient. Our luggage followed us to the room almost immediately.
If you’re wondering about communication, there were no language issues whatsoever. Every staff member we interacted with spoke excellent English.
In fact, one of the bartenders at CottoCrudo Bar was originally from England.
What truly stood out was how quickly the staff learned and remembered our names. Within just a few hours, they were greeting us personally every time they saw us, a small detail that made a lasting impression.
They also had a great sense of humor, which came in handy when dealing Lewis! When we arrived, one of the porters mentioned that if we needed the car at any point, it could take 10–15 minutes due to the process involved.
Naturally, my husband made it a running joke to tell them he needed the car “right away” every time he passed by. Fortunately, the staff found him to be hilarious for some reason.
What You’re Really Paying For at the Four Seasons Prague
Staying at the Four Seasons Prague certainly feels like paying for something special. You’re investing in more than just a place to sleep.
The prime location near the Vltava River, Old Town, and Charles Bridge makes sightseeing easy and cuts down on transport costs.
The service is top-tier: attentive staff, polished common areas, and thoughtful touches like turn-down service and room amenities that reflect luxury.

The overall comfort level is very high and the atmosphere is luxurious without feeling pretentious.
However, the pricing is premium at least for the room rates. We didn’t find the food to be any more expensive than any other city hotel around the world.
In terms of value: if you prioritize impeccable service, convenience, and a luxury standard, you’ll likely feel it’s worth every euro.
If your budget is more moderate, or you care less about brand and fine details, you might find similar-quality hotels in Prague for a lower cost that sacrifices some prestige or small luxuries.
Getting to Four Seasons Prague
Getting to the Four Seasons Prague is pretty straightforward since one side of the hotel overlooks a major street.
The hotel entrance is tucked away on a small side street, and the signage is easy to miss, which we did, of course.
It’s just something to keep in mind if you’re driving. If you happen to miss the turn, you’ll need to navigate through some traffic and loop back around.
This didn’t take away from the hotel at all but it’s something to be aware of. To be fair, most of the hotels in the city have the same problem.
The best options for getting to Four Seasons Prague, when arriving into Vaclav Havel International Airport, are rental car or private transfer.
Rental Car
There’s a transportation center located across the street from the airport so it’s convenient and easy to get to.
If you’re not easily bothered by traffic in a strange city and don’t mind sharing a road with trams, a rental car is an option for you.
This is what we did but we visited several cities during our stay. If you’re only staying in Prague, a car isn’t necessary. It’s easy enough to get around without one.
Keep in mind that hotels will charge you a nightly parking fee.
Private Transfer
Driving isn’t for everyone so if you’d rather not have to worry about traffic and unfamiliar roads, book a private transfer. No fuss, no worries.

We suggest private transfers rather than taking a taxi in Prague. Taxis aren’t regulated in Prague so this can sometimes lead to being overcharged. If you take a taxi, confirm the fare before getting in.
How to Experience the Four Seasons Prague for Less: Affordable Luxury Tips
If you’re looking to stay at the Four Seasons Prague but don’t want to pay the luxury prices, there are a few savvy ways to enjoy this five-star property without killing your budget.
Travel in the Shoulder or Off-Season
Hotel rates in Prague drop significantly during the shoulder seasons (late fall, early spring) and especially in winter, excluding the Christmas markets.
You’ll still get the Four Seasons experience, but with better availability and often lower prices. Plus, the city is less crowded, which adds to the charm.
🏷️ Affordable Luxury Tip #1:
Don’t bother with the premium view rooms. The river or castle views are gorgeous, but if you plan to be out sightseeing all day, a modern room offers the same luxury experience at a much lower price.
Book Midweek Stays
If your schedule allows, try booking your stay during the week rather than weekends. Many luxury hotels offer better deals midweek when occupancy dips.
Use Loyalty Programs or Credit Card Points
If you collect points through hotel loyalty programs or travel credit cards, the Four Seasons Prague can be a great place to redeem them. This can significantly reduce your out-of-pocket expenses while still enjoying all the hotel perks.
Look for Package Deals
Check the Four Seasons official website and trusted travel partners for seasonal package deals or special offers that bundle room stays with dining, spa treatments, or experiences.
These can add value and help you save compared to booking services separately.
💡 Affordable Luxury Tip #2:
Skip the bed-and-breakfast package. It can cost $200+ more per night than the room-only rate — and that’s before tipping. Prague’s amazing cafés offer excellent breakfasts for a fraction of the cost of the hotel breakfast.
Split Your Stay
Consider splitting your stay to enjoy luxury without the full-trip price tag.
Spend a night or two at the Four Seasons Prague to enjoy five-star treatment and unbeatable location, then switch to a more budget-friendly hotel or boutique property for the rest of your trip.
You’ll enjoy the best of both worlds, luxury and value, without stretching your budget too far.
What to Know Before You Book the Four Seasons Prague
Like any hotel, there are things to consider before booking your stay. Here are some observations we made during our stay.
Observation: The Four Seasons Prague is, at its core, a city hotel, which is expected for a property of this caliber in a major European capital. This is similar to the dynamic at luxury hotels in cities like Paris, London, New York, or Boston. While we didn’t find this to be a negative, some guests might.
